Meet The Owners
We are Monte & Gayle Sothmann, owner/operators of Artisans At Work. Here is a little information about our background.
Monte started working the trades as a youth with his father and grandfather. He served for 4 years in the Marine Corps including Vietnam service. After returning home, while working on a double major in psychology and sociology with a minor in business, he started his original painting and renovation company. He worked counseling at the VA for 2 years but never stopped contracting. He finally decided he belonged in the trades doing what he loved.
Gayle joined Monte several years later helping with the contracting business and doing real estate rehab. Though her background was in the corporate world, she found her niche in the trades and real estate renovation. Gayle is multi-skilled and performs a variety of construction tasks. Besides management and administration, she is still one of the top producers on the job.
After numerous projects together, and both of us becoming educated at a broker’s level in real estate, we decided to expand our company and grow Artisans At Work into the versatile home remodeling and painting company you will find today.
We are both very grateful to have had the opportunity to choose the career path we have. The work is gratifying, challenging and fun. We feel greatly honored to be able to meet and work with people in the Papillion, Omaha area and to provide the services needed to make their homes what they want them to be.
